Ohio Sexual Battery Law
An individual charged with Sexual Battery faces one of the most serious charges that the State can bring against an individual. Sexual Battery carries with it a draconian punishment as well as an incredible stigma. This has a profound effect upon not only the person charged but also on their family.
Sexual Battery is a felony. It is often a felony of the third degree. Some forms of Sexual Battery may be higher level felonies. The sentencing for a specific Sexual Battery is highly dependent upon the facts of the case and only after a complete review by a competent and skilled attorney will you know where you stand in regards to a possible penalty.
Sexual Battery also carries with it the possibility of a lifetime registration as a sex offender. This is called a Tier III classification and requires that every 90 days for the rest of your life you report to the local sheriff and tell them where you are residing, where you are working, and who you are living with. You will be prohibited from living near schools and other places that children frequent.
As you can tell this is a very serious charge. You need an attorney with experience in the criminal justice system.
